BRAND IDENTITY — TAIOHI WHAI ORANGA, MANUREWA MARAE
Taiohi Whai Oranga is a youth-led leadership programme developed by Manurewa Marae. Following a successful investment application, the programme needed a brand that honoured its kaupapa while engaging a broader audience—including urban rangatahi and prospective corporate partners.
Rather than starting from scratch, the identity built on the existing mana of the programme. The symbolic use of the kite—a traditional Māori motif of aspiration and connection—was reinterpreted in a dynamic, colourful style. The final design incorporated elements of place, including the local maunga and coastal location of Manurewa Marae, delivering a brand that felt grounded, energised, and ready to take flight.

Dynamic and colourful artwork featuring a stylised kite was developed. This incorporated the local maunga (mountain) and coastal site of Manurewa Marae in a dynamic and youthful way.
