A 100+ page publication outlining a proposal for the Taiohi Whai Oranga Programme, a youth-led, community based program with a focus on the Manurewa community in South Auckland, New Zealand.
Manurewa Marae
Taiohi Whai Oranga is a unique programme targeting long-term wellbeing and development outcomes for youth in Manurewa. It is a collaborative project between Manurewa Marae and a number of community stakeholders. Plush Creative worked in collaboration with the Auckland Communities Foundation and Social Effect to produce an informative investment plan for the ASB Community Trust that clearly and visually communicated the information presented.
Warm and energetic design
The design reworked and simplified the existing Manurewa Marae and Taiohi Whai Oranga logos. The fonts and colour pallette were chosen to create a warm, youthful colour pallette that complimented the 'Instagram style' filters used on the photography. A distinctive style of infographics and typography was created to visually communicate complex concepts and comprehensive statistics clearly and effectively. The design also reflected the humanity and youthful energy of the programme and the cultural integrity of the Marae.
Accessibility
The final page count topped 100 pages of information that needed to be easily cross-referenced and accessible. We added extensive bookmarks and indexing make the information quick and easy to find.
Successful outcome
The result is a visually appealing, professional looking publication that achieved a successful outcome and set the standard for future branding and marketing for the Taiohi Whai Oranga Programme.
